Crimea: Ukrainians attacked a Russian submarine. They showed photos of Rostov-on-Don

Photos of a destroyed Russian submarine hit by the Ukrainian army have appeared on the Internet. Last week, the army of the defending country carried out a spectacular attack on the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol. The Russians lifted the unit into dry dock and, as it turns out, the damage was very serious.

For several days, new information has appeared regarding the attack carried out by the Ukrainian army on the night of September 12-13. The Ukrainians most likely attacked Storm Shadow missiles, produced by the French-British MBDA consortium. The missiles have a range exceeding 250 kilometers.

The Ukrainians managed to damage two units, as he reported Andriy Yusov, representative of Ukrainian military intelligence. The targets were the landing ship Minsk and the Kilo-class submarine Rostov-on-Don.

The Ukrainian intelligence had information about the ships’ positions thanks to operational work of the partisans and data obtained from residents and shipyard employees in Sevastopol. The partisans are associated with the Atesz group. This is a Ukrainian-Tatar resistance movement operating in Crimea.

The peninsula was annexed by the Russians in March 2014. Ukraine and Western countries recognized the Kremlin’s aggressive actions violation of international law. Currently, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities emphasize that the conflict that has been ongoing since February 2022 cannot end without regaining Crimea.

Russian military facilities on the peninsula are regularly attacked. Not only the Black Sea Fleet is stationed in the ports of Crimea. The Russians have also organized transport hubs there, which allow units to be seen at the front.
