Attack on Kyiv stopped
The capital of Ukraine was attacked by Kh-101/555 cruise missiles fired by Russian Tu-95 bombers from the Caspian Sea region.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reports that all missiles heading towards Kyiv have been destroyed.
“So far, no casualties or damage have been reported in Kiev. However, data is still collected and updated. Thanks again to our Air Defense for saving lives! I would like to remind all residents of Kiev to strictly observe the safety rules in the event of an air alert!” said Sergei Popko, head of the Kiev city administration.
Drone attacks
The day before, the Russians struck with drones. They used the tactic of attacking in several waves, with breaks between groups of attacking drones.
-The Ukrainians wrote that after a four-day break, the opponents again attacked the capital from the air. “This is the twelfth attack on the capital this month. During the alarm, which lasted more than three hours, the enemy, according to preliminary data, used Shahed barrage ammunition,” it was reported.
From the beginning of May 2023, Russia resumed frequent missile attacks deep into Ukrainian territory. Most likely, they are primarily aimed at weakening the Ukrainian air defence. Such conclusions were drawn by experts from the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom, citing their intelligence data. During these missile attacks, Russia began to increasingly use reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
