The actions taken by Russia for years are the background of the petition. Initially, in 2014, it happened annexation of Crimea and the proclamation of that part of Ukraine as entirely Russian territory. Now the Russians have started similar activities in eastern Ukraine. Seven months after the start of the war with Ukraine, the Russians conducted a peseudoreferenda in part of the occupied territory. These are the districts in the east and south of the country – Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia.

Observers, however, indicated that the alleged votes were taking place under the barrels of rifles. This is another move on the part of Russia that is aimed at annexing new areas of Ukrainian territory.

The Czechs decided to mock the Russians’ actions. A petition appeared on the web, the author of which is a parody website dealing with a wide range of topics. “As Russia showed us in Crimea, and now shows us in the east of Ukraine, it is perfectly fine to enter the territory of a foreign country, announce a referendum there, and then annex this territory” – the authors perversely argue.

Therefore, they decided to claim Kaliningrad. Or rather, Konigsberg. “Kaliningradalso known in Czech as Královec, is a Russian city that was founded in honor of the Czech king Přemysl Otakar II. During its existence, the city belonged to Prussia, Poland, Germany, and now Russia. We believe that Russia has played with Kaliningrad for too long and it is time to send it back into new hands. And since the city was founded in honor of the Czech king, it should pass into the hands of its rightful owner “- they argue.

“We have a unique opportunity to expand the territory of the Czech Republic and finally gaining access to the sea. That is why we demand that the government of the Czech Republic send Czech soldiers to Kaliningrad, Fr.a referendum that will end with 98 percent. for joining the Czech Republic and then annexing Kaliningrad and changing its name to Královec “- reads the rest of the petition.

The parodic petition has already collected quite a few signatures. Users signing the petition also share their own mockery of Russia. There are also words of support for Ukraine and its struggle.
