The French producer and publisher reacted to the recent news regarding Dan Allen. Youtuber hid under the pseudonym TheRealInsider and regularly published confidential information to make it easier for himself to create his own material. Ubisoft did not leave the matter without a comment.
TheRealInsider was the first to present the details of Ubisoft Forward and unveiled the list of Assassin’s Creed games that were presented during the event. Whistleblower entries have in many cases served as the basis for content creation on the Dan Allen Gaming channel, and in fact were the author’s second account who has regularly collaborated with the industry giant.
Each of the journalists and web developers who wanted to access the details before the event had to sign a nondisclosure agreement, so Ubisoft had to refer to the case we wrote about earlier this week. The company released a statement highlighting the negative impact on development teams working on the projects in question.
“We regularly provide access and information on our games under the NDA to trusted partners. When this trust is breached or information is leaked by a private individual, it is not only harmful and demoralizing for our teams, but takes away an exciting moment of disclosure and experience for our players. While we will not comment on the individual case, we will take these matters seriously and will respond accordingly. “-
The corporation does not indicate any details, but as we can guess, Dan Allen Gaming / TheRealInsider will have to face a financial penalty – it can amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Ubisoft has grounds to sue the author who was well aware of the consequences of breaking the agreed arrangements.
Dan Allen will probably have to face considerable difficulties and the lack of invitations to further industry events, which at one time were for him a solid source of information about the actions of game producers.
