UK officials have launched a second, more detailed investigation into the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal, with CMA’s actions even praised by Sony. However, there are many indications that the American giant is very confident. The situation was commented on by Satya Nadella.

Microsoft wants to spend $ 69 billion on the acquisition of Activision Blizzard to throw games from the Call of Duty series and Diablo to the Xbox Game Pass. However, the deal is now being checked by officials from all regions and UK professionals are concerned – the deal is said to have “significantly reduced competition in the UK market or markets”.

The situation was commented on by Satya Nadella and the president of Microsoft confirmed that he is not afraid that the transaction may not be completed:

“Sure, any acquisition of this magnitude will go through control, but we feel very, very confident that we’ll make it out alive,” he told Bloomberg Television.

Satya Nadella emphasized during the conversation that Microsoft is in fact the 4th or 5th (depending on the counting system) corporation in terms of size in the gaming industry, and Sony is the number one who, in addition, has been making purchases all the time recently.

“This is a competition, so let us compete” – added Satya Nadella, hinting that it is Sony that should provide Microsoft with the opportunity to compete with the competition, because in the current situation it is the Japanese corporation that is the leader.
