AMD Ryzen 9 7950X broke records in four benchmarks when working with the standard AiO cooler

-

We have long expected AMD Zen 4 processors to be an extremely efficient alternative to the upcoming 13th-generation Intel Core chips, but probably no one assumed that these processors would be able to break records at home. As it turns out, the 16-core / 32-thread Ryzen 9 7950X model running up to 5.5 GHz turned out to be the best in the Cinebench R23, Cinebench R20, Cinebench R15 and 7-Zip.

It looks like the Ryzen 9 7950X will deliver record-breaking home performance using standard components.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X – CPU clock reaches 5.85 GHz, but you must have cosmic cooling

Records were broken with the use of AORUS X670E Xtreme, ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme motherboards, ASRock X670E Taichi or MSI X670E MEG ACE motherboards and – importantly – Corsair H115i AIO cooling. The Ryzen 9 7950X processors ran at 5.4 to 5.5 GHz (on all cores) at temperatures ranging from 87 ° C to 108 ° C. Moreover, the systems worked with the maximum power from 226 W to 244 W, which is the allowed range for the AM5 socket. So it looks like enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy record-breaking performance at home using standard components, although it is known that long-term operation of such a system should rather not be recommended.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X tested in the CPU-Z benchmark. The results in the single thread test are slightly below expectations

It is worth adding that the above-described AMD Ryzen 9 7950X systems overclocked to approx. 5.5 GHz fare better than Ryzen 9 5950X @ 6.0 GHz, which means that we are dealing with an increase in IPC by 13-14% compared to the architecture Zen 3. This is quite impressive and you can only imagine what other potential lies in the Zen 4 systems. We would like to remind you that the premiere of the units is to take place on September 27. In addition to the described 16-core machine, the Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X models will also appear in stores.
