To celebrate the launch and demonstrate the manufacturer’s future support for Atari 2600+, three new accessories for the console were also announced: the CX78+ controller (with support for two-button 7800 games), a separate set of CX30+ paddles and an extension cable for accessories. Additionally, four more 7800/2600 games will be released in 2024. More information on availability will be available soon.
For retro enthusiasts wanting to make sure their collection is compatible with the Atari 2600+, after thorough testing, a 99% compatibility rate has been confirmed with almost 600 games tested. An updated compatibility list can be found on Atari.com.
Atari 2600+ launches with ten of the most recognizable games in Atari history, including Adventure and Missile Command. The Atari 2600+ was created using modern technologies to replicate as closely as possible the original Atari 2600 four-switch video game system.
For people who want to get back to gaming from the 70s and 80s, the Atari 2600+ comes with the CX40+ joystick controller, reproduced in the same size
and layout as the original 2600 joystick, which will provide an additional note of nostalgia.
Available in stores worldwide are CX-30 paddle controllers with a cartridge containing four games, an additional CX-40 joystick, and two games sold separately. Berzerk Enhanced Edition and Mr. Run and Jump.
