Huawei has gone crazy, but there is a method to this madness

Let’s start with the fact that Huawei showed as many as seven (!) different versions of the Watch GT 4 – four larger, 46 mm ones, which we call “men’s”: Active, Classic, Green and Elite, as well as three smaller, 41 mm , i.e. the so-called “women’s”: Classic, Elegant and Elite. Men’s watches are characterized by an irregular, octagonal case shape and various finishes and straps, while women’s watches have a round case and several versions of straps. Each one is prettier.

I admit that when I first saw all the models in the Huawei Watch GT 4 series in the press photos, I thought that the men’s Green was the prettiest (this silver-green envelope appeals to me), and the women’s were rather… meh. I saw them live and… how wrong I was! However, I like the Elite the most.

Huawei Watch GT 4 Elite – the best smartwatch for women?

A 41 mm silver stainless steel case with a gold frame and a steel bracelet matched in color to the case – admit it, it looks really good. I also like the detail of how the strap slightly narrows from the telescopic pins towards the clasp – it may be a little noticeable, but very pleasing to the eye, thanks to which the Elite version bracelet does not look heavy on a delicate women’s wrist.

It is worth noting that the watch – despite its elegant design – is water resistant. It boasts an IP68 tightness class and water resistance up to 5 ATM. It’s a pity that there is no resistant sapphire glass, but there is a reason why the GT versions are cheaper than models without this feature.

I don’t need to convince anyone – especially women who know exactly what I’m talking about – that most smart watches are either too big or too sporty in style. Meanwhile, the small Watch GT 4 is a response to the demand for elegant smartwatches for women that look great on the wrist. Perfect for everyone who doesn’t want to have several watches – elegant for business attire and sporty for going to training.

The only thing worth juggling here is easily replaceable straps, because I can’t imagine running with a watch on a bracelet – especially since, for example, I like to have my watch fastened quite loosely on a daily basis, and for training, in order for the device to measure parameters more precisely, it is better if it fits snugly to my wrist. skin.

Huawei wants you to always be in shape

Since we’re talking about training, it’s worth checking out the new function called “in shape”. So far, Huawei smartwatches allowed monitoring activity using GPS, tracking vital signs during training, and more. But now the manufacturer has decided to go one step further, not only by improving the operation of the GPS module, but also by introducing the ability to control the caloric deficit. It is the user’s responsibility to complete information about meals in the application, and then the watch will help adjust the appropriate level of activity to help lose excess weight or maintain weight.

New features in the Watch GT 4 series also include sleep monitoring, which will be useful in spotting the symptoms of sleep apnea, as well as improved tracking and estimation of ovulation date based on the analysis of sleep heart rate, body temperature and respiratory rate.

Long working time – no surprises

I have the privilege of using Watch GT 4 for two weeks now and I can confirm that the manufacturer’s assurances of seven days of operation in the case of the women’s version are absolutely fine. In the first cycle, it discharged on exactly the seventh day, but after turning on Always on display working time shortened to four days.

In the case of the male version, which Kuba is testing, it is 14 days under certain conditions. Kuba, however, turned on all possible functions, except Always on display – in such conditions, the watch lasted him 10 days, which is still a long time.

What is also important, like other Huawei smartwatches, Watch GT 4 can also be connected to smartphones with both Android and iOS, so they are extremely universal.

The cheapest versions, Huawei Watch GT 4 Classic and Active, cost PLN 1,099 at the time of publication of this material, while the most expensive is the women’s version that I tested, i.e. Huawei Watch GT 4 Elite, which now costs PLN 1,699. So – I think you will agree with me – they are quite affordable.

You may be surprised, but compared to the previous generation, in the case of several versions, the price did not increase by even a zloty, which does not happen, and if it does, it happens very rarely.

In the title, I stated that the Watch GT 4 series models will sell like bad for a reason. I am convinced of this, because the good price (similar to the previous generation), cool functions and this design will definitely prove their worth. Plus Huawei is just filling the niche of small smartwatches with a classic design on the market – such models are really missing.
