Jeff Ross clearly cannot accept that he was not given the opportunity to create Days Gone 2. The creator mentioned the game several times, and his last statement appeared during the PlayStation Showcase. The director confirmed that the continuation of the story in the great IP was supposed to debut last month.
Jeff Ross wanted to create a whole series of games in the world of Days Gone, and each subsequent adventure was to correct the mistakes of its predecessor. The developer believed that Sony would allow his team to realize the vision and tell new stories in a world overrun by bloodthirsty beasts.
The creator, however, did not receive such an opportunity, but Apparently, Days Gone 2 had a schedule and the production was supposed to debut in April 2023 … exactly 4 years after the release of the original. Bend Studio during this time could develop a new story and improve elements that were not properly received by fans of the original.
I’m a little nervous after these PlayStationShowcases because they just remind me that we could have released Days Gone 2 a month ago if we’d just stuck to our guidelines.

The developers apparently had a roadmap to offer Days Gone 2 to the players in April 2023. Of course, it’s hard to say if the team could achieve all the goals set at that time (after all, a lot of things happened along the way), but the team had a plan.
It is worth noting, however, that another message from Jeff Ross suggests one thing – Sony has not changed its plans and has not decided to return to this universe … although apparently a movie is being made in this IP.
