Magda Linette was one of the last tennis players to compete in the WTA 250 tournament in Seoul. Once on the court, she did not waste time, but quickly dealt with the Dutch Arianne Hartono.

For Magda Linette, the capital of South Korea is a special place on the tennis map. It was in Seoul that it achieved one of its greatest successes, reaching the final in 2019. However, the coronavirus pandemic did not allow her to return to happy courts quickly. In 2020 and 2021, the Korean tournament was canceled.
This season, there was an opportunity to come back and Linette took advantage of it right away. The Polish woman reached Seoul in good shape – a week ago she reached the final of the WTA competition in Chennai. The first match in the Koran party only confirmed this. Our representative defeated Arianne Hartono from the Netherlands 6: 2, 7: 5.
The meeting between the Polish woman and the Dutch woman lasted a little over an hour and a half. It could have been a quarter of an hour shorter, but in the second set Linette lost three games in a row from 5: 2. It was quite a surprise, because earlier it showed its effectiveness. The more important the moment in the match, the better Poland played, and Hartono made more mistakes. The ending, however, slightly distorted the image of this duel.

Linette ended her encounter with the shield, however. She played a solid match and was more regular than her opponent. She didn’t have to play hard to finish rallies because the courts in Seoul are fast.
The opponent, on the other hand, had huge problems with her own application. She won the first service game only in the second set. She made a total of six double mistakes, but even when she hit the first pass, she did not harm the Polish woman. Service powerlessness at some point even took away her willingness to play. In the last game of the first set, Hartono looked resigned.
Later it was not much better, so when the Dutch were losing 2: 6, 2: 5, it seemed that the duel would end soon. However, she could still afford a rush that could cost Magda Linette dearly. The Polish woman was very keen to finish the game in two sets. Longer distance would be dangerous due to the intense last week during which she played five games.-
Fortunately, the Pole kept a cool head until the end and deservedly won 6: 2, 7: 5. In the second round he will play against the French Kristina Mladenović on Thursday. In 2019, she defeated this tennis player in Cincinnati 6: 2, 7: 5. This is their only confrontation so far.
