On Thursday, no one will get a fine for not having a ticket in public transport. This day is the European Car-Free Day. It will be possible to board buses, trams, metro and trains for free.
September 22 is the European Car Free Day. According to the resolution of the Warsaw Council, on that day the use of all vehicles of Warsaw Public Transport (bus, trams, metro, SKM trains) and P + R parking lots is free of charge.
In addition, Koleje Mazowieckie is taking part in the initiative, as part of the “Wspólny Bilet ZTM-KM-WKD” offer and the non-tariff special offer “Day without a car in KM” introducing the possibility of free travel on all trains of Koleje Mazowieckie, as well as alternative transport buses in the area limited by stations : Skierniewice, Kutno, Sierpc, Działdowo, Ostrołęka, Czyżew, Czeremcha, Łuków, Dęblin, Skarżysko-Kamienna, Drzewica and by KM buses on the section Modlin – Modlin Airport.
We will also travel for free on the Warsaw Commuter Railway and replacement buses for “wukadka”. According to the Public Transport Authority, “the entitlement to free travel applies to travel on all trains and buses, regardless of the route and travel time – without the need to have any document confirming the right to travel”.-
