At least half of the government needs to be changed – this is the direction PiS has chosen, according to unofficial information from “Rzeczpospolita”.
The new government is to be presented by Mateusz Morawiecki next Friday or Monday. Our conversations show that PiS wants to make the most of the constitutional deadlines. – Everything indicates that there will be a vote and an attempt to gain a vote of confidence – says our informant, who repeats that the vote may be an element of building a founding myth for Jarosław Kaczyński’s formation as an opposition party.
This means that the new government formed by the current opposition will take office in mid-December. And today it is not yet certain who will go to the December EU summit – whether it will be Mateusz Morawiecki or the new Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Perhaps the calendar arrangement in the last days before the summit will decide.
-Of course, no one in PiS has any doubts about how the mission to form a cabinet will end, i.e. with a lack of a majority in the Sejm. – The names of the ministers are still being determined. These will also be the people who will work in the future to hold accountable the government that the opposition is currently forming – admits one of our interlocutors from the PiS club.
