Robert Lewandowski (11 times), Wojciech Szczęsny (3 times), Jakub Błaszczykowski and Łukasz Piszczek (2 times each), Zbigniew Boniek, Kamil Glik and Piotr Zieliński – what do they have in common? Only these seven Poles reached for the title of champion of the European TOP 5 leagues in the starting lineup! It’s unbelievable how rarely this has happened. Nine more players were substitutes or made cameos.

Robert Lewandowski has been incredibly celebrated for several days. And rightly so, because this is the 11th foreign league title “RL9”. He was the Bundesliga champion twice with Borussia Dortmund and eight times with Bayern Munich. Now he won the La Liga title for the first time with Barcelona. Before Robret, there was only one Polish player who can call himself “Spanish football champion”. This is Jerzy Dudek, who in the 2007/2008 season played one game for Real – in the penultimate round. Lewandowski’s record is fantastic – it’s safe to say that without the achievements of the Pole, Barca would not have won the title. The 34-year-old forward found the net 23 times and provided six assists.

When Lewandowski came to the Bundesliga, only two Poles scored episodes when it comes to the German championship. These are Sławomir Wojciechowski, who played three matches (one goal) for Bayern Munich in the 1999/2000 season, and Jacek Krzynówek, who played four matches for Wolfsburg in the 2008/2009 season (but in the spring he was already in Hannover 96). The 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons were amazing from the Polish point of view, because a trio appeared in Borussia Dortmund – Kuba Błaszczykowski (who joined in 2007), Łukasz Piszczek and “Lewy” (since summer 2010). All three had great numbers in both BVB championship seasons. In the latter, downright cosmic! Our trio at BVB: Błaszczykowski – 10/11 – 29 games, 3 goals, 4 assists; 11/12 – 29 matches, 6 goals, 10 assists; Piszczek – 10/11 – 33 matches, 7 assists; 11/12 – 32 matches, 4 goals, 8 assists; Lewandowski – 10/11 – 33 games, 8 goals, 3 assists; 11/12 – 34 matches, 22 goals, 10 assists. In this second season, the record of “Polonia Dortmund”: 32 goals, 28 assists!

Lewandowski in Bayern when it comes to the Bundesliga is 238 goals and 45 assists!
