Dortmund vs Mainz
Borussia have 70 points and a place in the UEFA Champions League next season, but will he win the German championship at the expense of Bayern, with a 2-point lead? One thing is known: Borussia Dortmund will be German champions if BVB wins against Mainz or simply if Bayern fails to win in Cologne. All in the legs and heads of the Borussia players to win against Mainz. And here is a strange thing, because after winning the match against Bayern – it was 3-0. Who knows if this team did not sink the Bavarians, but then the players from Mainz fell in 4 matches, including against relegation defenders Schalke and Stuttgart. Therefore, they are ranked only 9th.
Leipzig vs Gelsenkirchen
RB Leipzig won the last 4 matches and thus from 3rd place will play in the Champions League. This match is a battle for Schalke to stay in the Bundesliga. Schalke’s defeat will most likely mean relegation or play-offs. RB Leipzig can actually give up 3 points and lose, because neither will gain or lose anything. Schalke has 31 points and these 3 points could help them stay or at least compete in the play-offs to stay in the top Bundesliga.
Cologne vs Munich
Matchday 33 in the Bundesliga brought a turning point at the top of the Bundesliga table. Bayern Munich lost to RB Leipzig 1-3 at home, which was a shock to the club’s management and fans. Borussia Dortmund capitalized on this defeat at the Allianz Arena to overtake the Bavarians with a 3-0 away win in Augsburg. BVB have a two-point advantage and thus the best chance of winning the title.
Now Bayern must fly to Cologne and absolutely win the match against FC Köln hoping that Mainz will put himself in Dortmund. Bayern is slightly disappointed because their players in a trivial way in their own stadium wasted a huge chance to win the championship. These are somewhat bitter words because now Bayern depends on what BVB will do with all this. Unfortunately, everything indicates that Dortmund will celebrate the championship, and Bayern will have to ventilate the locker room.
Bayern is the best in many statistics in the 2022/23 season.
Taking into account the whole season, the team from Munich scored the most goals (90) of all Bundesliga teams. Bayern players have scored at least 90 goals in one Bundesliga season for the fourth time in a row. Only Borussia Mönchengladbach have not won the German championship with this number of goals before.
Freiburg and Union Berlin will play a correspondence duel for the 4th place in the Champions League.
The team that scores more points in matchday 34 finishes in 4th place. If both teams draw, Union will play on better goal difference in the Champions League. If both teams win or lose, Freiburg would have to make up at least 4 goals. If the goal difference after 34 matchdays is the same (currently +12 for Union and +8 for Freiburg), the 4th place will be determined first by more goals scored (both teams currently have 50 each) and then by a direct comparison (which would in favor of Freiburg).
