It wasn’t until mid-April that Liverpool found a rhythm and began scoring regular points in the Premier League. However, the series of victories was not enough to finally take a place in the top four.
Yesterday, Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-1, depriving “The Reds” of a chance to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League. Mohamed Salah reacted to such an unfavorable turn of events.
-– I am devastated. There are no excuses, we had everything we needed to qualify for the next Champions League and we didn’t manage to do that. We are Liverpool and qualifying for this competition is the bare minimum. I’m sorry, but it’s too early for uplifting or optimistic posts. We have failed you and ourselves Salah wrote on Twitter.
Individually, Salah has little to complain about. In the current competition, the Egyptian has recorded as many as 30 goals and 15 assists in 50 appearances.
Liverpool will finish the league season with an away game against Southampton. The meeting will take place on Sunday at 17:30.
