The door of the South Korean Asiana Airlines plane opened during the flight, a spokesman for the airline said, quoted by Reuters. This happened shortly before the plane landed in the southern city of Daegu. The plane landed safely and none of the passengers were injured.
The incident happened on Friday just before 1 p.m. local time (before 6 a.m. in Poland). The plane departed from Jeju-do and about an hour later approached the landing in the southern city of Daegu in South Korea.
Shortly before landing on the plane, the door opened. An Asiana Airlines spokesperson said authorities were investigating the incident. “Police are investigating the incident after a passenger who was sitting by the emergency exit said he touched the lever,” he added.
No one was injured as a result of the incident, but some passengers were taken to hospital for respiratory problems as a result of the shock, the spokesman said. The Daegu fire department said nine people were taken to the hospital.
