Another statement was issued by groups of Widzew fans – they write about the former president in superlatives, but they also declared their readiness to cooperate with the new management.
This is probably the last act of recent turmoil in the club. After the dismissal of president Mateusz Dróżdż last Thursday, the majority shareholder of the club, Tomasz Stamirowski, and Dróżdż have already commented on the matter. Now, another statement has been issued by supporter groups, which previously expressed concern about the dismissal of the president and demanded explanations. It looks like everything is fine now. On Thursday, fans associated in associations issued a joint statement:
“The last few days have been marked by a series of meetings and talks about the latest changes in our club. The conclusions drawn from them do not allow for an unequivocal assessment of the events that have taken place. They are still not entirely clear to us. Listening to the arguments of both sides, we noticed that the assessment of the club in particular areas of its functioning (infrastructure, organization, sports and financial potential, etc.) is convergent for adversaries. The differences are in how problems are overcome. President Mateusz Dróżdż strongly defended the interests of Widzew, which earned him our respect and sympathy. In our opinion, his attitude should be a model for opponents from the backyard of Widzew, who instead of supporting him, threw logs under his feet.

-However, we cannot be deaf to the arguments of the owner of the club, Mr. Tomasz Stamirowski, which can be summed up with the proverb “speech is silver and silence is gold”. It is Mr. Stamirowski’s financial commitment that allows Widzew to continue, and this is a superior and indisputable fact for us. Therefore, we refrain from radical actions and declare our readiness to cooperate with the new Management Board. We hope and declare that Mr. M. Dróżdż will always be welcome in the heart of Lodz.
