Donorkind is demanding that the court prohibit the man from donating sperm any more and order all donations to be destroyed.
“It can be extremely difficult for children psychologically that their father fathered so many offspring,” the foundation’s Ties van der Meer said in a lawsuit. It also points to the risk of related people getting into relationships without even knowing it, which is “genetically dangerous.”
“De Volkskrant” reminds that in the Netherlands there are guidelines for clinics, which show that the donor can have a maximum of 25 children. Meanwhile, the 41-year-old fathered 102 children in Dutch clinics in 2017 alone, according to information from the association of gynecologists NVOG.
The Donorkind Foundation estimates that there are over half a thousand of them worldwide.
