Police detained two drivers for too loud car exhausts. One of them was drunk.

On Friday (September 23), the policemen carried out further checks of vehicles in terms of noise emissions. They patrolled the streets, where they most often there were night disruptions by drivers.

– During the patrol at 3:30 on Niepodległości Street, the police detained the driver of the BMW. As it turned out, when checking with a sonometer, the noise emission of the car exceeded the norms. The device showed 120 dB. However, this was not the end of the 19-year-old’s troubles. During the inspection, the officers noticed the behavior of the young driver. Therefore, the man was tested with a breathalyzer, which showed 0.6 per mille of alcohol – informs the chief commissioner Kamil Gołębiowski from KMP w Lublin.

The young man lost his car registration certificate and his driving license for a year. Soon he will hear the accusations. For drunk driving, he faces a penalty of up to 2 years in prison, a driving ban and a large fine.

The same night, a 20-year-old Mitsubishi driver was arrested.

– In the case of his car, the sonometer read the exhaust volume at the level of 105 dB. Additionally, the police noticed that the vehicle had red turn signals and did not have a front license plate and valid insurance. The man lost his registration certificate and was fined PLN 1,500. In addition, the policemen made a note to the Insurance Guarantee Fund – adds Kamil Gołębiowski, commissioner.
