Janusz Kornaga, working in the Horyniec-Zdrój Commune Office, saw a giant boletus (boletus) in one of the surrounding forests. After placing the find on the scales, it turned out that the mushroom weighs 2.3 kg. Even the most demanding mushroom picker would not despise such a specimen.

It is certainly one of the largest mushrooms found during the current season. When setting off on mushroom picking, you should remember about the dangers of coming across poisonous mushrooms. The State Forests prepared a special atlas in which they accurately described individual mushrooms.
The commune of Horyniec-Zdrój boasted about the finding in social media. “The mushroom season is in full swing, and in our commune and probably in the whole Roztocze / Podkarpacie region, we have a record holder. Mr Janusz, an employee of our commune office, found a real giant today. Such a real thing is every mushroom picker’s dream! Weight: 2320 g. We invite you to our Horyniec forests.” – we read in the post on Facebook.
The mushroom belongs to the group of edible mushrooms which do not cause any discomfort in humans. In Poland, most of them grow wild, only a few are cultivated, incl. mushrooms and oyster mushrooms. Mushrooms contain little nutrients, but they are appreciated for their taste.
Mushrooms can be eaten directly or pickled. They can be dried and salted. Edible mushrooms, if stored poorly, can pose a threat to our health. Mushrooms are used to prepare soups, sauces, salads, stuffing for dumplings, dumplings and croquettes.-
