39-year-old Mr. Krzysztof decided to undergo a procedure to correct his nasal septum. This is a routine procedure that was supposed to improve the patient’s quality of life.
The operation was performed in June last year in one of Warsaw’s hospitals. There was drama.
As we learn from the “Intervention” material, the patient was to be under general anesthesia before the operation. The anesthesiologist Anna G. was responsible for this, leading a team consisting of a resident and a nurse.

As it turned out, the endotracheal tube was inserted into the esophagus, not the trachea. The lawyer of the deceased patient’s wife shared shocking details. – It was the resident who performed the intubation, but there was no verification of where the tube was located. When this medical procedure was to be verified, the person leading the team was not with the patient, he explained.
As a result of poor intubation, Mr. Krzysztof ended up in the ICU, where doctors fought for his life for several months. Unfortunately, the 39-year-old died.
The deceased man’s wife claims that the doctor was supposed to be talking on the phonewhen an inexperienced resident (he had a two-month internship) intubated the patient.
-The director of the Warsaw hospital dismissed the doctor and notified the prosecutor’s office. The woman was accused of unintentionally exposing the patient to immediate danger of death and causing serious bodily harm.
Anna G. pleads not guilty. – She provided explanations that are inconsistent with what the prosecutor’s office established based on other evidence – said Katarzyna Skrzeczkowska from the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor’s Office. The doctor faces up to five years in prison.
Anna G. still works in one of Warsaw hospitals – she is employed as a contract doctor. The woman did not answer questions asked by “Interwencja” reporters.
