Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz (KO), Robert Kropiwnicki (KO), Tomasz Zimoch (Poland 2050) and Anna Maria Żukowska (Left Wing) – these are the MPs elected by the Sejm to the National Council of the Judiciary. Politicians of the current parliamentary majority have been questioning the status of the National Council of the Judiciary for years, calling it “neo-KRS” – but despite this, they were willing to run for it. They arranged the theater at the first meeting.
According to the report of the chairwoman of the National Council of the Judiciary, Judge Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka, Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz decided to disrupt the work of the council from the very beginning. – I am opening this meeting, of course, I would like to welcome the new members of the council and ask MP Gasiuk-Pihowicz to give way to Judge (Anna) Dalkowska, who occupied this seat and cannot log in at the moment – she said.
KO senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski also got involved in the fight for the chair, attacking the National Council of the Judiciary for not allowing journalists to attend the proceedings. He argued that therefore the National Council of the Judiciary does not provide reports from its proceedings. However, the entire meeting is broadcast online…
– We are dealing with a kindergarten and I would prefer to avoid it. Of course, a discussion about places is possible if someone really wants to occupy a certain place, but behavior involving giving another member of the Council a chair is not acceptable in a normal society – said Chairwoman Pawełczyk-Woicka.
