Suwałki

International Children’s Rights Day was celebrated together with UNICEF by students of the Primary School. Maria Konopnicka in Suwałki. Yesterday was the anniversary of the adoption of the “Convention on the Rights of the Child”.

SPMK has prepared many actions on this occasion. Students came dressed in blue and could also take part in knowledge competitions on children’s rights. Teachers conducted lessons on this topic, drawing attention to the fact that children’s rights are entitled to every young person without exception and should be respected by every adult.

– On the occasion of the holiday, we reminded children about the figure of Janusz Korczak. He was a pioneer of children’s rights. His memory is also honored in our city with a bust, which is located in the center of Suwałki – emphasizes the director of the facility, Jadwiga Orłowska.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted in 1989, guarantees equality before the law for all children. International Children’s Rights Day with UNICEF is an event that unites all children in the world. On this day, in many countries, children and adults take joint initiatives.
