He caused a collision and fled the scene. Thanks to the immediate reaction of the injured party, the perpetrator was arrested by the police. Such an incident took place a few days ago in Boguszyce.

Last Friday (17/11) around 9:30, the police received information about a road accident. The report showed that the driver of a Volkswagen delivery van collided with the driver of a Volkswagen passenger car and then drove away.

The injured driver followed the perpetrator of the collision and informed the police about everything, says Junior Asp. Przemysław Kędzior from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Opole. – After a while, the driver was stopped by a police patrol. During the inspection, it turned out that a 39-year-old resident of the Nysa district was drunk. The breathalyzer test showed nearly 3 per mille of alcohol, he added.

As it turned out, causing a collision and driving under the influence of alcohol were not the man’s only offenses. Further checks showed that the 39-year-old had a lifetime driving ban ordered by the court.

The 39-year-old was sobered up and his car was towed. The man will now answer to court for his actions. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
