Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022. The monarchini was 96 years old, and she was on the throne for 70 years.
Although the ruler was old enough, it was known that her departure should be expected, her death was a huge shock. After all, she had received the new UK prime minister, Liz Truss, just two days earlier.
There was no indication that the worst was about to come. On September 8, however, the Palace announced that the queen’s condition had worsened, and that her relatives were headed to Balmoral to bid her farewell.
A few hours later, the queen was dead. Many began to wonder what caused her death.
As stated in the statement, Elizabeth II “passed away in peace.” However, the official cause of death has not been disclosed.
But people began to ask why the death came “so fast”. A doctor on Australian television speculated that “heart disease or stroke” was most likely involved, and did not rule out a heart attack.
Some reminded that the Queen underwent COVID-19 in February, she also had increasing mobility problems, and recently she has lost weight.
Now it turns out that we will soon find out the true cause of death. Elizabeth II died in Scotland, and the local law requires that the death certificate be submitted within seven days. This is stated in the 1965 Act on the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
If the queen died in England, her family would not have such an obligation, because there the requirement of disclosing the causes of death and giving the causes of death does not apply to monarchs.-
The Scottish Government has said, however, that it will not seek a death certificate until the mourning period is over. It is expected to last until September 27.
