The clergyman spent last weekend with Elizabeth II. The Queen’s personal confessions and jokes move to tears

The death of the British Queen surprised many, although the monarch was already 96 years old. But despite her troubles with mobility, it was clear to the end that she kept a keen mind and energy to act that some younger members of the royal family would have envied. The man who had had the honor of spending her last days with the queen had now confirmed it. Rev Dr. Iain Greenshields (68) made his confession in an interview with ABC News. As the clergyman emphasizes, although he saw Elizabeth II in person shortly before her departure, the death of the monarch surprised him: “This news came as a huge shock to me when I heard that she was very sick because she was in great shape all weekend last weekend”. The Queen kept her intelligence, wit and memory until the end, she was young in spirit. “It was a fantastic visit. Her memory was absolutely amazing, she was very witty” – the pastor recalls his stay in Balmoral. The Queen indulged in the jokes she liked so much. She assigned a clergyman to live in a guest room on the tower, joking that “the queen was throwing him into the Tower.” There were also serious confessions.

“I don’t regret anything.” The British Queen told the pastor about her life just before her death

“She told me she had no regrets.” – revealed the clergyman, turning to the more serious topics of conversations with Elizabeth II that took place a few days before her death. The Queen left, confident that she had fulfilled her duty and sacrificed her life for others, as she had promised herself 70 years earlier. She revealed that she was asking God for wisdom during the coronation. The Queen fondly told the pastor about her childhood. “She was the life and soul of all things. She spoke to me in a very personal way about when she was a child, about her horses from the past, she remembered the names of those she had even 40 years ago, as well as places and people’s names.” the pastor revealed. Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, September 8. Her funeral was held on September 19.
