Both domestic and world public opinion has never been particularly fond of King Charles III. According to a 2019 study by BMG Research, 46 percent of Britons would like him to relinquish the crown to Prince William. However, everything indicates that after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the situation improved and the monarch gained popularity.

It was not King Charles III who stole the hearts of his subjects. They would love to see his son on the throne

Recent studies show that the monarch has gained in comparison to the results three years ago. When asked about who they liked the most, 70 percent of respondents named him. After all, Prince William is still a favorite of the British. The king’s eldest son gained 84 percent of the vote, followed by Princess Kate with 80 percent.

Interestingly, Prince Harry also gained popularity. However, the same cannot be said of his wife. 60 percent of people interviewed named Meghan Markle as the least liked member of the royal family.

Why did King Charles III fall victim to the British?

The current ruler of the United Kingdom is criticized not only for his private behavior, but also for politically incorrect statements. Many of his public appearances gave the impression that he was not an ardent supporter of the British monarchy. Not so long ago, in June 2022 in Kigali (Rwanda), on the occasion of the Commonwealth of Nations meeting, he said that he would not protest if other countries wanted to sever ties with the monarchy.
