Susana Jamaladinova known as Jamala is a Ukrainian singer, songwriter and actress. The artist of Crimean Tatar origin became known to the Polish audience in the 13th edition of the “Dancing with the Stars” program. She is also the winner of the 61st Eurovision Song Contest. She stood on the podium in 2016.

Jamala wanted on an arrest warrant

The media spread the news that she was a popular artist pursued on an arrest warrant by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The information was provided by the independent Russian portal Mediazona. Jamala is to be accused of spreading false information about the Russian army.

Moscow’s decision it was supposed to fall in October. As of this month, the singer is allegedly on the wanted list. In November Jamala was to be arrested in absentia by a court in Russia.

Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has placed a record in its database informing about “penal article”. It is intended to be the basis for the artist’s exploration. However, it is not known which record exactly this is. However, these are not the first restrictions imposed by Russia on the singer.

Already in April 2022, she was to be banned from entering the country for the next 50 years. This information was provided by the Izvestia daily. In addition to Jamala, other artists and journalists were also on the list.

The Eurovision winner criticized Russia

The artist allegedly criticized Moscow more than once. She spoke on the occupation of the Crimean Peninsula by Russia. She also criticized the attack on Ukraine in February 2022. Moreover, in her song “1944”, with which she won Eurovision 2016, Jamala sings about ethnic cleansing carried out by the Soviets. It is about the deportation and destruction of the Crimean Tatars in May 1944.
