Several threads become clear in the heated discussion between nurses and other social groups. Certainly, as one Internet user pointed out, we live in times of extreme political correctness and falling into paranoia, where you can no longer laugh at anything, is not good. But it is worth remembering that nurses are very exposed to obscene and vulgar remarks, probably the most among representatives of the so-called uniformed professions. Having dealt with different generations of patients, many of them see nothing wrong with commenting on their appearance or speaking to them in a certain way.
Certainly, the content presented by both celebrities has an impact on the image of the nurse, even though – as Herbuś wrote – both of them may not be aware of how serious this problem is in the medical industry. I think what’s important in all of this is to listen to each other and approach this topic with respect. We may think to ourselves or write to gain some distance from this nursing cross-dressing, but many of us certainly have no idea what women in this profession have to face. Maybe it’s also worth thinking about a broader discussion, not only on Instagram, where not all generations have contact with this application.
