A crimson coat, toque, gloves and shoes, and in the evening a crimson ball gown. On Sovereign Prince Day, Princess Charlene donned Monaco’s national colors from head to toe. Her twins – Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques – imitated their parents’ styles.
November 19 is Monaco’s National Day, also known as Sovereign Prince Day. The celebrations open with a mass in the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and an army review with the participation of the princely family, and ends with a ceremonial concert at the Grimaldi Forum. In 2023, the ceremonies were marked with national red.
During her appearance on the balcony and in the palace courtyard, which was decorated with garlands of crimson roses, Charlene Grimaldi, bathed in red, stood out. The duchess’s cherry styling included a flared wool coat with an avant-garde collar, a knitted dress with a minimalist neckline, suede high-heeled boots from Manolo Blahnik, gloves, a toque by Stephen Jones, and even ruby earrings from the Graff jewelry house. Princess Gabriella, who accompanied her during the celebrations, recreated her mother’s outfit down to the last detail, but instead of red she chose a contrasting navy blue. Like Charlene, she chose a double-breasted coat and an elegant toque, and added a red accent to tie the styling together in the form of carmine soles of patent leather shoes.
The son of the duchess and Albert II, Grimaldi Jacques, in turn, wore a miniature version of his father’s uniform with a horned cap, a dress cord and shiny polished shoes.
The ceremonial day ended with a gala, where Prince Albert’s wife dazzled again in red. Under the black tie dress code, she chose a mermaid-style dress embroidered with thousands of glass beads, which shimmered with a burgundy sparkle with every step. The main color also dominated the duchess’ makeup (cherry lipstick and nails) and accessories (satin pumps and ruby teardrop earrings). The monochromatic nature of the outfit was broken by a modern hairstyle, which the aristocrat styled into an asymmetric wave for the evening.
-The next few weeks in Monaco. How will Prince Albert’s children spend Christmas?
Later this week, the royal family will celebrate Thanksgiving, which was initiated in Monaco by Princess Grace Kelly. After dinner together, Prince Albert will go on a trip to the countries of Africa and Asia. He will return to the Palace on December 10 for the twins’ birthday. Shortly after Christmas, the family will take a trip to Antarctica, where they will celebrate the New Year together.
