“Strawberry Moon”. The full moon is coming in June
The June Full Moon has several common names. It is often called the “Strawberry Moon”, “Rose Moon” or “Hot Moon”. The etymology is very simple – it is of course related to the beginning of the biggest season for strawberries and roses, as well as the approaching summer. The full moon in June is also often called the “Supermoon”, because our satellite then looks exceptionally impressive in the sky and can then be larger in the sky by up to 14 percent. All because it is closest to the Earth.
