How much will the pension in September plus the fourteenth benefit be? Check the calculation table for the 14th gross and net pension. Here are the rules on which the fourteenth pension will be paid. Read who will receive additional money in September.

As we informed, President Jarosław Kaczyński announced that the fourteenth pension in 2023 will be higher – it will amount to PLN 2,200 net. Another good news for seniors is that the 14th pension will become a permanent benefit paid annually!

Rules for paying the fourteenth pension by ZUS they do not change. They receive the benefit “ex officio”. There is no need to submit applications for the “fourteenth grade”. There is also a rule that above PLN 2,900 gross, the “fourteenth pension” is calculated on the basis of “zloty for zloty“. Every zloty of a retiree’s income exceeding PLN 2,900 causes the amount of the fourteenth pension to be reduced accordingly.

The fourteenth pension is not available to seniors whose monthly pension exceeds PLN 4,188.44 gross.

However, retirees whose benefit does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross will receive the 14th pension in the full amount. Those who exceed this threshold can count on “fourteen”, but reduced according to the principle mentioned above.

The additional benefit will be paid together with your monthly pension. Therefore, the Social Insurance Institution will pay the pension in September plus the fourteenth pension on the same day. Standard benefit payment dates are: 1st, 5th, 6th, 10th, 15th, 20th or 25th day of a calendar month.

Please remember that a pension up to PLN 2,500 gross is exempt from PIT. However, the fourteenth pension will be reduced by tax and health insurance contributions. This is because in September the fourteenth pension is added to the monthly pension. After adding these two amounts, most people will exceed the tax-free benefit threshold of PLN 2,500 gross. Therefore, a 12% personal income tax and a health insurance contribution of 9% will be deducted from the fourteenth pension.
